ECU PIRATES FOOTBALL | DOWDY-FICKLEN STADIUM
MOTION GRAPHIC ANIMATIONS
In the summer of 2022, I was given the opportunity to create a collection of motion graphics for in-game use in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, home of the ECU Pirates. The stadium had just installed an upgraded video board system including stadium ribbons, on-field corner ribbons, and a large main board above the student section.
With no prior experience in the realm of animation, I went through a lot of trial and error in Adobe After Effects, learning as I went through the process from scratch. The idea was to create animations that emphasized the PURPLE and GOLD of ECU and brought the game environment to the next level. The result was a series of video board animations that helped tell the story of the game and brought Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium to life on gamedays!
